New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 266cm
Posted on Monday 9th February 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.
The snow storm we have been waiting for has arrived with the first signs being the increase in wind in the early hours of the morning. It has been a bit of a disappointment so far with only 4cm of fresh snow in the village this morning and the snow has almost stopped for now. There is still more on the forecast through today and tomorrow, so fingers crossed that it does eventuate. The upper slopes have received more than the village and there will be some nice fresh powder to be skied. At the moment the resort is getting buffeted by strong winds which may interfere with some lift operations. The winds reduce to light winds by Wednesday morning.
Opening, lift & other notes:
Some lifts operations may be suspended due to wind.
