The lifts have stopped moving signifying the end of the winter 2014/15 season.
The end of winter is a good time to reflect and appreciate just how good the snow season is here in Furano, and all over Japan. Furano may not get the same huge amounts of snow that other regions might, but with ample amounts of quality powder it is easy to see why the number of overseas visitors to Furano continues to grow each year.
The white snow has now completely retreated from the ski area and has been replaced with fresh green growth. Furano is now heading towards summer and preparing itself for the influx of summer visitors from all around Japan and overseas. The region becomes extremely picturesque with the rolling countryside covered in colourful flowers and crops.
Furano Now will take a break for a few months to enjoy the warmth of the summer season. We will be back again once the temperatures start to cool off. Until then take care of you skis and apply a thick layer of storage wax!
