Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 25cm
Snowfall at base this season 655cm

Posted on Saturday 3rd March 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

The whole resort was a whiteout yesterday with severe winds throughout the day. The double good news is that there is another 25cm of snow at village level and the storm has passed. The gondola is moving, so that should be good to go at the official opening time of 9am. It is warm again, just below zero at the moment and will head up to +2c today. The weather is mainly cloud but plenty of sun is coming through. It will be a good day with lots of fresh snow. Early lifts will be a must do.

Kitanomine Zone open.

Furano Zone open.
