Good Morning Skiers and Boarders,
I wouldn't go so far as to say "All's right with the world" yet, but it's definitely a darn sight closer than it was yesterday.
A nice snowfall overnight bringing a much needed injection to the slopes. Officially 15 cm of fwesh at the top secret Snow Japan weather station near the base of the Kitanomine Gondola. By Hokkaido standards, it's not that wight and fwuffy, and actually quite packable. I think that's exactly what we need right now to stick to and cover up the existing base. It's been snowing steadily the last several hours, which is great to see, and exactly how winter usually is in Furano.
Kamui Ski Links reports 20 cm overnight. That should be pretty nice.
Can't say about Tomamu as they coyly don't report new snow, only the base total. Forget that! I'm not going to sit there and keep a spreadsheet just to figure out your fresh snowfall. You don't want to play? Fine, then I don't have to be interested. Key points to keep in mind about Tomamu: They have a terrain park, and the biggest indoor wave pool in Japan. It's 80 meters long. Awesome.
Looks like it's supposed to snow the rest of the day and all day tomorrow. Such good news. I think I'll go celebrate with an English muffin.
bonchi powder Festival this Saturday night and Sunday in the north Kitanomine parking lot. Don't miss the fireworks Saturday night at 8:00 PM.
Thanks for Thinking Snow. Keep it up.
