It was an absolutely gorgeous blue-sky day today. A few flurries over night, and then the clouds cleared out for the whole day. After all the snow clouds we've been seeing for the past few weeks, the sun was a welcome sight in Furano. Thanks to the beautiful weather, temperatures topped out at a balmy -8, making it an excellent day for skiing. Things are starting to cool off a bit now, but it looks like the bitterly cold air we've been experiencing for the last week won't be returning tonight.
Tomorrow promises snow, snow and more snow as a system works it's way across Hokkaido. The clouds should move in over night, and the snow is forecast to start just before dawn. They're calling for significant accumulations, so perhaps this will be a chance to catch some fresh powder!
