A belated Merry Christmas to all the Furano Now readers and apologies that Furano Now was unable to get a report out yesterday. Santa came up with some amazing weather for Christmas Day and some equally amazing temperatures. If you were out there you would have definitely been impressed by the crystal clear blue skies, Santa on skis and the coooold temperatures. Furano town recorded a super low -26c yesterday morning and if that amazes you then even more impressive was Asahikawa City which fell to a rather chilly -29.5c.
It started to snow lightly last night and by morning there was 15cm of fresh at village level. The wind was also blowing quite strongly so it will be wind affected in places but there is likely to be some very very good powder around in sheltered areas.
The good news is todays winds does not seemed to have interferred with lift operations too much.
