Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 390cm

Posted on Sunday 1st March 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

The resort will not operate Furano Ropeway today as a precautionary matter to prevent the possible spread of viruses.

It is snowing with a moderate wind around the base area. There is not a lot of accumulation on the ground yet but I have measured 3cm this morning. Looking up at the resort visibility looks limited with the combination of the wind and snow.

The temperature is currently -7c and the high of -3c will be mid afternoon. The snow is forecast to continue through the day.
