Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 20cm
Snowfall at base this season 223cm

Posted on Monday 15th December 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

Hello Skiers & Boarders,

VERY windy today in Furano, so while the resort initially only opened Lift C down low near the New Prince, that only lasted an hour and they closed that as well. Very, very rare.

Got some nice snow yesterday afternoon. With everything blowing around, it's hard to say how much actually fell, but I measured what was there, and there you go.

Bad news coming for the weekend...temps are forecast to soar up to +9 C on Saturday and +11 C on Sunday along with some r@!n for good measure. No typo there folks. Just astoundingly bad.

Only 10 more shopping days until Christmas.

Think snow and think COLD.
