Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 40cm
Snowfall at base this season 102cm

Posted on Saturday 14th December 2013 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

The snow front arrived late afternoon and continued through the night.

There is 40cm of new snow in the village and graders are hard at work clearing roads. The mountain itself has received excellent snow coverage, and with a slightly heavier powder than usual it is ideal for bulking up the base.

The groomers have been flat out compressing the new snow and there will be some fantastic groomer runs for the early birds this morning.
