Myoko Ski Park is a small ski area located on the north-eastern slopes of Mt Myoko in Myoko city, Niigata Prefecture. It did not open for the 2020-2021 winter season and unfortunately it is not opening for 2021-2022 season.
Myoko is the name of a city in Niigata Prefecture, but it is also the name that many people associate with a number of ski areas located on and around the beautiful Mt Myoko in the southwest region of the city. The region famously often receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in Japan. Myoko is reasonably close to other popular ski areas in neighbouring Nagano Prefecture, including Madarao Kogen, Nozawa Onsen and Shiga Kogen. It is also a famous onsen hot springs and nature resort all year round. In recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of visitors from overseas.
