Goodbye Ski Park Kanbiki

Ski Park Kanbiki is a ski hill located on the northern slopes of Mt Kanbiki in Kita Hiroshima town (Hiroshima Prefecture).

Unfortunately, in October 2018 it was announced that it has closed after about 50 years of operation.

The word 廃業 was used in the official press release... and so it sounds pretty permanent

Less than an hour from Hiroshima city and offering natural snow, no doubt some skiers and snowboarders in that region will be upset to hear this news. The company that operated the ski hill blamed the declining number of skiers as the main reason - apparently, since 2014 total revenues had declined by over 60%.

Ski Park Kanbiki had a steepest slope of 30 degrees and the seven courses were serviced by one triple lift and one pair lift.

We will keep the information page on SnowJapan for a while so if you are interested in finding out more you can find details below.
