Yamabiko no oka
is a small ski hill located on the eastern slopes of Mt Kosha in Kijimadaira village in the north-eastern region of Nagano Prefecture.
Yamabiko no oka did not open during the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons. When it was last open, Yamabiko-no-oka was one of five connected ski hills on the slopes of Mt Kosha that were branded as 'Mt Kosha' and joint lift tickets were available. In the regions surrounding Mt Kosha, Myoko and Madarao Kogen are to the west, Nozawa Onsen is to the north and Shiga Kogen is to south west. Nagano Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the main island of Honshu. Most of the Northern Alps, Central Alps and Southern Alps are located within Nagano (along with neighbouring prefectures). Nagano has the second highest number of ski and snowboard resorts in all of Japan and they are spread around the whole prefecture. Nagano city and many of the major ski resorts are located in the northern region.
