Himekayu is a small ski hill located to the east of central Oshu city in Iwate Prefecture.
Iwate Prefecture is located in the Tohoku region of the main island of Honshu. Morioka is the capital city. Most of the ski and snowboard hills in Iwate Prefecture are located in the western mountainous regions, near to the border with Akita Prefecture. Aomori Prefecture is to the north and Miyagi Prefecture is to the south of Iwate.
A local bus from Mizusawa Station stops nearby. The journey takes about 40 minutes.

Himekayu is about 21km from the Mizusawa IC and 25.5km from the Hiraizumi Maesawa IC exits on the Tohoku Expressway.
From the Mizusawa IC exit turn right onto Route 4 and at the turn off for Route 397 turn right onto that road to head to the ski hill. Himekayu is just over 1km off Route 397 on the left hand side.
