Mominoki Shinrin Koen (Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima)
Mominoki Shinrin Koen ('Mominoki Forest Park' in English) is a very small ski hill located to the north west of central Hatsukaichi city and Hiroshima city. One ropetow lift has serviced the course and there is also a yuki-asobi (playing in the snow) area and cross-country course. Along with the larger nearby Megahira, it is one of the closest ski hills to central Hiroshima city. Actually, this is the closest - but some may not call it a proper ski experience. This is especially so for the 2017-2018 season - apparently, the rope lift will not be operating for this season! Opening dates may vary depending on how kind nature has been with the supply of snow.
Hiroshima Prefecture is in the Chugoku region of western Japan. The capital city, Hiroshima, is on the southern coastline by the Seto Inland Sea. The two main regions of Hiroshima Prefecture where most of the ski hills can be found are the north-western region around Kita Hiroshima town and the north-eastern region of Shobara city.

2018-2019 SKI RESORT INFORMATION UPDATES
As the 2018-2019 winter season approaches, we are gradually updating the information on these pages (for every ski resort in Japan).
Many ski resorts in Japan do not update their own information until late autumn. Our process of updating information will be ongoing right through until the end of November. In the meantime, ski resorts usually open and close around the same dates each year - so even if the planned season dates shown on this page are still from the 18-18 season, they can be used as a good indication of the upcoming season.
