Outdoor in Motai is a small ski area located in the central region of Gujo city in Gifu Prefecture. It is the most southerly of the ski hills in Gujo and describes itself as an 'at home' ski hill. This area is usually only open to the general public on weekends and holidays; for private/reservation use on weekdays.
Gifu Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the central region of Honshu island, and it one of only a handful of landlocked prefectures. It shares borders with (from the north) Toyama, Nagano, Aichi, Mie, Shiga, Fukui and Ishikawa. Most of the ski and snowboard resorts in Gifu are located in the northern region of the prefecture – in Gujo city, Takayama city, Hida city and Shirakawa village.

Outdoor in Motai is just under 13km from the Gifu Yamato IC exit on the Tokai Hokuriku Expressway.
From the Gifu Yamato IC exit, carry straight on and then turn left onto Route 156. After about 1.5km turn right onto Prefecture Road 318. After just over another 3.5km turn left to head up to the base of the ski hill.
There are a number of car parks for 300 vehicles close to the base of the ski area. Parking is 1,000 yen from 29th December 2020 until 6th January 2021.
