Tadami is a small local ski hill located in the far west region of Fukushima Prefecture, close to the border with Niigata Prefecture. The road that goes through to Niigata Prefecture is closed during the winter months, though the Tadami-sen train line keeps access from Niigata open through the year.
Tadami calls itself the 'smallest ski area in Fukushima Prefecture' and offers various playing in the snow activities.
Fukushima Prefecture is composed of three main regions - the Hamadori region to the east (including the Pacific Ocean coastline), the Nakadori region (the central area) and the Aizu region (the Western mountainous region). Many of the ski and snowboard resorts in the prefecture are found on or near Mt Bandai and Mt Adatara to the north of Lake Inawashiro. Most of the others can be found scattered across the western region of the Aizu region or to the south-west of Lake Inawashiro.
There is an area for sledging and other snow activities for children.
