Aizu Kogen Nango is located in Minami Aizu town in the south-western Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture. This resort welcomed snowboarders early on when most other ski resorts in Japan remained skiers-only and it remains a popular place for snowboarding and for the numerous snow parks and half pipes.

Fukushima Prefecture is composed of three main regions - the Hamadori region to the east (including the Pacific Ocean coastline), the Nakadori region (the central area) and the Aizu region (the Western mountainous region). Many of the ski and snowboard resorts in the prefecture are found on or near Mt Bandai and Mt Adatara to the north of Lake Inawashiro. Most of the others can be found scattered across the western region of the Aizu region or to the south-west of Lake Inawashiro.

2018-2019 SKI RESORT INFORMATION UPDATES
The 2018-2019 winter season is approaching! Hurray!

At the time of writing more than 60% of the ski hills in Japan have still not updated their own information for the upcoming season. We are continuing to manually update the information on these ski resort pages of SnowJapan but for the moment things are unavoidably a mix of old and new. In most cases ski resorts open and close around the same dates each season, so even if the planned season dates shown on this page are still from the 2017-2018 season, that is usually a good indication of what to expect this time round.
