Aizu Kogen Takatsue is located in Minami Aizu town in the south-western Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture. This ski hill has been operating since 1980.
Fukushima Prefecture is composed of three main regions - the Hamadori region to the east (including the Pacific Ocean coastline), the Nakadori region (the central area) and the Aizu region (the Western mountainous region). Many of the ski and snowboard resorts in the prefecture are found on or near Mt Bandai and Mt Adatara to the north of Lake Inawashiro. Most of the others can be found scattered across the western region of the Aizu region or to the south-west of Lake Inawashiro.

Children's facilities
The resort says that the 'Takatsue Kids Park' is one of the biggest in Japan. There are three main areas 'WaiWai Area' (flat) and 'DokiDoki Area' (wave) for sledges and tubing and the 'Skill Up Area' for skiing and boarding. There are two moving walkways. Snow rafting and other activities are also available. It is located near base on the lower part of the Family Course, 500 yen entry (300 yen for those with valid 1 day lift ticket).
Park information
The 800m+ 'Easy Ride x Enjoy Park' area is located off the Sky Road 2 lift. There is also a 'Beginners Snow Park' near base.

2019-2020 Season Lift Tickets
Ladies Day & Senior Day is on 16th January, 20th February and 19th March 2020 - on those days a 1 day lift ticket for ladies and seniors is 1,000 yen.
Childrens Day is on 19th January, 16th February and 15th March 2020 - on those days a 1 day lift ticket for children is free.
A one day lift ticket is 1,000 yen every Wednesday (except 1st January 2020). Cunningly named 'Takatsue Day'.
Free 1 day lift ticket for ladies on 'Hina-matsuri' day on 3rd March 2020.
If you can prove it is your birthday with official ID, you can also receive a free 1 day lift ticket on your birthday.

The closest train station is Aizu Kogen Ozeguchi Station on the Aizu Kinugawa line.
A bus or taxi from the station takes around 30 minutes to get to the ski hill.
On Fridays to Mondays, a 'Park and Ride' service from Kinugawa Onsen Station is scheduled.

Direction
Aizu Kogen Takatsue is about 61km from the Nishi Nasuno Shiobara IC exit on the Tohoku Expressway.
From the Nishi Nasuno Shiobara IC exit turn right onto Route 400. Head in a northerly direction for about 27km until reaching Route 121. Continue straight on (on Route 121, signposted as Aizuwakamatsu and Minamiaizu) for just over 13 km until the turn off for Route 352. Turn left onto Route 352 and continue for about 17.5km. Turn right to head up towards the resort.
