Inawashiro Resort is located on the southern slopes of Mt Bandai in Inwashiro town, Fukushima Prefecture. This resort overlooks - and offers fine views of - the nearby Lake Inawashiro. A few course areas are left ungroomed.
Until recent years this resort was known simply as Inawashiro Resort. A few years back it added Grand Sunpia to the name and was known as 'Grand Sunpia Inawashiro Resort', but it appears to have once again changed back to just 'Inawashiro Resort'. Not to be confused by the nearby - and unrelated - ski resort that is simply known as 'Inawashiro'.
As of late December 2020 there have been no updates about this ski area for the 2020-2021 season. It would appear that it will not be opening.
Fukushima Prefecture is composed of three main regions - the Hamadori region to the east (including the Pacific Ocean coastline), the Nakadori region (the central area) and the Aizu region (the Western mountainous region). Many of the ski and snowboard resorts in the prefecture are found on or near Mt Bandai and Mt Adatara to the north of Lake Inawashiro. Most of the others can be found scattered across the western region of the Aizu region or to the south-west of Lake Inawashiro.
Ski and snowboard lessons are available at Inawashiro Resort.
