Owani Onsen ski hill is located to the south of Owani town centre in Aomori Prefecture.
This ski area used to be larger than it currently is - now just what is known as the 'Kokusai Area' remains operating.
Aomori Prefecture is the northernmost prefecture on the main island of Honshu and borders Akita Prefecture and Iwate Prefecture to the south. Hokkaido is to the north across the Tsugaru Strait. There are a number of ski hills located across Aomori Prefecture, mostly small in scale. The capital, Aomori city, is located in the central area by the shores of Mutsu Bay and to the north of the Hakkoda mountains.
