Went here over the Feb 2011 long weekend. Best place in Shiga to stay as there's a variety of places to eat and connections to all the resorts are pretty easy.
Ichinose Family itself is not bad but a little boring. Takebitaiyama and Terakoya are the better areas.
Beware of the Hotel SunRoute. I've stayed at their other hotels around the country, while the food and rooms were not bad, the penny pinching charges for cloaking your stuff and charging for individual
Skied the Inchinose area after some fresh snow. The snow quality was good for April, especially in the trees where it remained light even when the sun appeared at lunch. It is a good resort and there are some good runs in the trees and in the groomed areas. Patrol seemed non-existent.
The trees bite though..

Maybe what most people think of the central part of the Shiga Kogen region - if you ask me it can't be "separated" so I'll go for SK as a whole.....it's an very good place. So big, varied, great atmosphere.
You should go to Shiga Kogen if you want to experience Japanese skiing/boarding.
