I really like this little ski area.

It is hassle free, uncrowded and has decent quality, if limited, terrain.

It makes you feel good to support the locally owned ski resorts instead of the overcrowded megasorts.

Food was good and cafeteria uncrowded (plus free pickles). I went during the new years holidays and never waited in line.

Lifts are slow double lifts but you are paying less for them and never waiting in line for them

I liked this little hill off the beaten track; it's mellow, laid back and has good tree skiing.

Small local hill feel, different than the commercialized resorts. Excellent tree skiing if you are creative enough to find it. Loads of snow. Good lift layout. A little cheaper than the big hills.

Snow is heavier than it is inland. Lots of patrol roaming about. Spent some time on a broken lift.

Overall it's worth

I have only been here for night skiing but I was impressed.

This has to be the biggest night skiing I've seen.

There is a lot of lifts, a lot to choose from, and some varied terrain. I was able to find my own powder pocket and tear through it over and over.

Made me pay for parking though at night. I recommend it for night skiing unless you want to stay in a small

I really like this resort.

The bowl at the top of the gondola area has some decent uncrowded terrain, and the lifts there are quick so you can get a lot of vertical in a day.

There is great potential in this place but for some reason the most desirable spots are roped off.

It can get crowded on the bottom and the night skiing is not great

This is a decent resort, even though I only skied it for one day so far.

It's true that the lifts are slow and not well designed and there are quite a few flat areas, but the fact is that there is more varied terrain, you just have to seek it out. The Tokamachi side (Atema resort) has decent terrain and a different view so it helps to mix things up.

Overall, not a place to go
