As an advanced skiier I found this resort to be pretty boring, because there's only one decent intermediate run, and one very short advanced run.
There are plenty of runs for beginners, but they'd have to watch their backs on weekends because it`s crowded.
We stayed in the Prince Hotel Cottages which are very nice, although many of them are about a 5 min walk from the main facilities (there is a shuttle bus, but it kept driving past us without stopping - you must have to book it).
I found the restaurant in the Prince Hotel good, especially the buffet breakfast. The restaurants and food facilities on the hill were not very good.
There's a nice cosy bar in the Prince Hotel if you want to enjoy a few drinks.
The other attraction of this resort for some people is the nearby discount shopping centre - brands like LL Bean, Nike etc. to be had at cheap prices.

Snow condition on visit:
OK, some fake snow
Things I liked:
It's easy to get to from Tokyo. It's about an hour from Tokyo by the Joetsu shinkansen, and the resort is within walking distance from Karuizawa Station. Plenty of beginner runs, lovely views, nearby discount shopping centre.
Things I didn't like:
Lacks intermediate - advanced runs, crowded on w/e
