Most resorts in the Kanto area that I have been to are fairly uninteresting. This resort has the same apperance until you take a closer look. There is huge valley connecting the two parts of the resort that is littered with trees. Although in some areas they are kind of thick they are totally skiable. Even found some 3 meter mushrooms bringing back memories of Niseko's Strawberry Fields.

The valley's turmunus has a lift at the bottom so you don't even have to hike out. Great skiing for the Kanto Area.

Two words of caution. The Ski Patrol is pretty srict about off piste. So as long as you are far enough in the valley you don't have to worry.

Second, I went there on a great powder day. In the afternoon the powder turned a little crudy and even got iced up. There isn't a lot of room in some areas to make a mistake. So I would enter the valley only on a good powder day.
