When to go to Tainai
Tainai Ski & Snowboard Area is best visited after a fresh snow (of any amount) and when the mid-day temperatures on the day do not exceed 3°C.

There are longer and more courses than at any of the other Kaetsu (north Niigata) ski areas, so it's worth the trip if you live in or are visiting the Niigata area.

There is an escalator lift for kids.

The cafeteria food is adequate.

There is nothing specific to do other than ski or snowboard at Tainai until spring when you can go paragliding there.
Date visited: From 25 January, 2019 To 25 January, 2019
Snow condition on visit: Very good
Things I liked: Snow conditions on a cold day. Lots of courses.
Things I didn't like: Food is pricey for what you get.
Recommended for: Beginner riders
Intermediate riders
Not recommended for: Off-piste opportunities
Courses/Terrain: 40
Lift system: 40
