My friend invited me to go skiing with him and his sister. They had never been skiing before, and it was my first time to go in Japan so I was pretty excited. We had a package deal from Sannomiya Station, and we took the cable car up the mountain. I was a little worried because it was raining in Kobe, but as we went up in the cable car it turned to snow, and it ended up snowing throughout the day. It did get a little warm later on, so the snow was pretty sticky and wet.
The resort was pretty small and definitely only for beginners. I didn't mind that much because it had been a few years since I had been skiing so I needed to get back into it. Also I spent a while teaching my friends to ski. By the end of the day it did start to get a little boring, but we found ways to keep it interesting. It was a fun time, but if I had been by myself I am sure that I would have gotten bored even with a half day.
The resort is nice because it is so close to Kobe, and not too difficult to get to. It is really small though, and basically consists of three beginner courses. It wasn't very crowded for most of the day which was great. At 4:00; however, the snowboarders came, and they were all beginners. The entire slope turned into a giant slalom course as we dodged snowboarders sitting on the ground. It actually made it a lot more fun, but the lift lines were longer. The snow conditions were also really good on the day I went. I think that usually they make a lot of snow, but there was a big snowstorm right before I went and of course it was snowing while I was there.
The food was pretty good, basically standard Japanese options. Rental was pretty easy, and the rental and lift tickets were included in the package deal we had.
I had a fun time there for one day, but I don't think that I would go back unless I had more friends who wanted to learn how to ski.
