It is hard to compare this ski hill to the other heavy hitters in Japan, but in terms of smaller local ski-jos, this one is pretty SWEET (def one of the best in Akita)

When the snow is good, this place is so much fun! There are definitely runs for all levels, but the highlight is the upper lift (left side of the mtn) where you can find the 40deg slope and courses that can really give you a workout. Having said that, they are still a lot shorter than some of your bigger mountains in Nagano and Hokkaido, but still, for Akita...we will take it!

Also, they did not seem to strict on going off course, so there is A LOT of off piste potential (tree runs, fresh lines, etc etc) highly recommend under the lift.

All in all, if you are looking for a nice little ski-jo to hit for a day or 2 then this would be a great option cause its CHEAP too.
Date visited: From February, 2012
Snow condition on visit: POWDER
Things I liked: Great snow, steepest runs in Akita
Things I didn't like: Smaller ski jo like everything else in Akita
