We had planned to go to another Hakuba resort but chose Iwatake because we had heard great things about it.

Iwatake is a fun little one or two day spot. We were pleased to see the gondola was moving at a quick speed up the mountain and many of the beginners stuck to the main course. The middle to advanced courses were pretty much empty.

The snow was fantastic. We had continuous snowfall throughout the day. The visibility was overall fair.

Summary - great for a few days. Decent runs with a little bit for every level. Well worth a check after a good sized snowfall. Somewhat tough on access from the train station but taxis are easy to come by.
Date visited: From January, 2011
Snow condition on visit: Heavy snowfall with light powder
Things I liked: Gondola access, empty on weekend, great rest area setup
Things I didn't like: Bad access from the train station
