This is a pretty surreal place. We had not planned on going there, but we ran into a well traveled Hokkaido skiier that called it the most underrated resort in Japan.
I won't go that far, but I definitely had a great time there. It is an over the top resort by all measures. Ice Bar, Wave Pool, 40 story hotels - over the top!
That being said I have never stayed on the 35th floor of a hotel before let alone one, with a chairlift at the bottom of the elevator.
There is a wide range of terrain at this place, the only thing it was missing was open bowls. I spent the first half a day wishing that there was more snow to cover the amazing terrain. The next day and a half I spent riding the best trees I have ever ridden in untouched, knee deep pow.
The downside was that there is not much other than the resort in terms of accommodation and food options. There is a little town at Tomamu, but most things were closed when we were there.
