My first Japanese skiing experience was lousy. Same kind of stress as driving in Tokyo.

Long unchanneled, "every man for himself", lift lines. Slow lifts and short runs equal bunk conditions. Snow was crap...take the extra drive to Niigata...it's got to be worth it.

Advertised as more "intermediate to advance runs", I thought there would be some off-piste and some true black diamonds. I was wrong. Everyone was skiing GS/S style, skidding fat skis with lazy technique, bump run was iced and grooved (from everyone skiing the same lines) and snow boarders owned the hill.

Anyone who has skiied the Rockies or Europe will agree that $50.00 spent for a lift ticket to this joint was a waste of money. I would have been better off staying at home and buying the latest Warren Miller tape to watch.
Date visited: From 12 February, 2005
Snow condition on visit: Crust and ice
Things I liked: Great Vistas
Things I didn't like: Crap snow, long lift lines, rude people, domestic runs
