Under new management in 2005, changes are to be expected, but from first glance, not in a good way.

Most visible is very poor restaurant service replacing excellent offerings from seasons past -- sparse menus, barely edible routine truck stop fare, or worse. Kids remarked not even any hot chocolate, most drink, etc. machines weren't operating, in-resort convenience store closed. Poor slope maintenance (the snow hoses were blowing all over the place, unrestrained, on several occasions), still, has more terrain than many of the local areas, and adequate number of lifts.

Snowboarders seem to be the order of the day, the usual assortment of folks in their 20s, in and out of control--very few really talented skiers or boarders to be seen. Easy to get to, short drive from Hiroshima (80km).
Date visited: From January, 2005
Snow condition on visit: Hard pack, ice, bare spots
Things I liked: Weekdays not too crowded, medium challenge
Things I didn't like: Repetitive, expensive, not enough moguls
