It was a slow start to the year, out of three weeks we got about five or six days of really good snow and many days where we had to head west to find better snow.

Happo offered better variety than any other resorts in the area, with some great fringe runs on the edge of the pistes. When the powder did come down it was sensational, especially on the Champion C black run and the Skyline run. The top of

What a great find!

Going on a weekday to Kiso Fukushima in February is pure indulgent bliss on great snow. The scenery, surrounded by mountain views, looking west out to Mt. Ontake is just unforgettable. Even when visiting larger ski grounds, I find myself sticking to the same favorite runs; therefore, by comparison, this place gave me 100% satisfaction: thrills without having to negotiate other users (particularly boarders who spend most of their time sitting on their butts in the
