This mountain is usually overlooked in the Hakuba valley. Not as popular as Happo or 47 but it has a lot to offer.
Usually good snow conditions. The back of the mountain has some good off piece stuff.
There is also a lot of natural kickers for freestyle boarding. |

Hakuba Iwatake goes off mainly in the powder.
The most backcountry to get is located under many of the lifts! Hidden secrets all over this little gem.
Of course, it compares little to Tenjindaira backcountry... peace out - Rich |

Recently snowboarded at Iwatake for the first time, and was surprised at the quality of the terrain.
It hadn't been flattened and over-groomed like so many resorts I've ridden in Japan.
That stated, it was pretty crowded, and the lifts are slow and old. |
