Karimpani began in 2012 when Max and Yuko Ito moved to Hokkaido with a dream of sharing the north island’s spectacular mountains and active, outdoor lifestyle with visitors from around the world.

The Ito family and Karimpani staff are all keen skiers and snowboarders. It is a good base to explore the Niseko United resorts and surrounding backcountry. Popular backcountry trailheads around Mt.Yotei and the Niseko Range are a short drive away. Bus services to resorts including Rusutsu and Kiroro run daily. Karimpani can book and arrange drop-off to meet these services.

Rental ski gear can be fitted and delivered to Karimpani. Equipment is modern and well maintained, delivery is fast and prices much lower than rental in Hirafu.

With 10 different onsens within 10 minutes drive, Karimpani is a great base to enjoy someof Niseko's best hot springs. Onsen tours run nightly after dinner.

Niseko is known for its agricultural produce, and Karimpani’s in-house chef sources fresh local ingredients daily. In line with a sustainable living philosophy, Karimpani choose organic produce where possible, and offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

If you feel like eating out, the Hirafu Village restaurants and bars are 15 minutes away by car, taxi or bus. Staff can help book a taxi for you.

Karimpani’s quiet setting ensures a good night’s sleep, so you’ll wake up fresh for first tracks in the morning.

Niseko has grown into Japan’s premier International ski resort in the years since the Ito family first moved to Hokkaido, but Karimpani retains the charm and friendly atmosphere of rural Hokkaido.

If you are looking for a relaxed, authentic Japanese experience, Karimpani provides excellent budget Niseko accommodation.
