Snow and weather reports posted on Wednesday 22nd May 2019

A bright but cloudy morning here and a fairly strong wind blowing. That wind is affecting Kagura a bit with the No4 pair lift not moving at the moment, but other than that things seem to be open as normal right up to the top No5 lift. At 9am it was +6 degrees up at Kagura, and 12 degrees down in Mitsumata. Down in the town area of Yuzawa temperatures will likely rise to over 20 today and tomorrow.
We have a light blue sky as a backdrop to the mountains this morning along with some white clouds - it is a bright and warm morning. Right now it is 14 degrees in the village and the temperature may well rise to around 20 degrees later on in the day.
Goryu and 47 are still open, and tomorrow will be the last day of the season. So it's last chance weekend!
Once the season is over we plan to post a season wrap up report here next week.
Official snow depths and operations @ Saturday 7th May AM:
Hakuba Goryu: The upper slopes at Goryu plan to be open until 8th May. The Gondola and Alps No1 and No3 lifts are operating. The course from the upper Alps slopes to lower Toomi slopes is now closed - you need to get the Gondola back down. Alps daira - 100cm.
Hakuba 47: All lifts except Line D lift operating. 47 plans to be open until 8th May. Top to bottom skiing still ok, resort reporting 80% of slopes remaining open (as of Saturday 7th May). There's a few spots where walking is necessary and snow thin on the ground... but hey, it's May! Snow depth (upper) - 50cm
