Weather conditions: light snow

Heavy snow all day yesterday and into the night. Perfect skiing conditions on the mountain with the fresh cover of snow. The storm that has been around for the past 3 days has now cleared and only light snow expected for the weekend.

Be careful of shallow obstacles off-piste as they are not all covered yet.   Read more ...

Niseko Now!

Weather conditions: Sun and cloud
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
The sun and cloud this morning should give us some better visibility than we've had over the two days but the light might get flat as some clouds come in. As much as there will not be as much fresh snow the winds from yesterday should not be as hazardous today up the mountain. Temperatures are between -3/-9 and the groomers look fantastic but some spots still have little holes and inconsistencies to catch one up so keep that in mind.

The village is starting to get its look of accumulating snowbanks again and the streets are clearer.    Read more ...

Yuzawa Now!

Friday 7th December 2007, 8:54am
Weather conditions: Cloud
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
A cloudy morning in Yuzawa and around +3 degrees at the time of writing though sun seems to be forecast for later this morning. The chance of snow seems very small though at least until the late tonight and into tomorrow, but that looks unlikely to be any kind of sustained snowfall. It is looking like it will be next week before the next decent snowfalls are with us.

Fine weather up at Kagura yesterday and some fine conditions as well - and not that busy either.   Read more ...

Nice conditions out there yesterday at Kagura after the snow of the day before. The sun was out as well helping add to the good feeling.

Tashiro will open up tomorrow and Sunday with (with the main start to the season in full being the weekend after) with the Ropeway, Tashiro 1,2,4 Romance lifts and Tashiro No 1 high speed lift. Conditions will be decent... though it might be too much to hope for new snowfall up there.

Kagura and Naeba are operating as they have been the last few days. Some new photos from Kagura yesterday have been added below...   Read more ...

Shiga Kogen Now!

Friday 7th December 2007, 9:37am
Weather conditions: Cloud
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
It is a cloudy start to the day and there is still some snow on the road surfaces. No new snow to report since yesterday and no apparent changes in resort operation either as we wait for more snow (we always want more!) - and conditions will be decent with the cold temperatures overnight.

Look out for a further update tonight with news for the weekend.

8pm update:

Not much to report this evening... it has just been a mainly cloudy day and relatively mild. There is a chance of some snow tonight and tomorrow morning but nothing significant, while Sunday looks like it will be cloudy. So probably not many changes to be expected for the weekend.   Read more ...

Minakami Now!

Friday 7th December 2007, 10:20am
Weather conditions: occasional light S-SW breeze from up the valleys, clearing sky
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
A relatively warm night and patchy cloud in the morning, butlight winds coming up from the valleys increasing the chance of light snow above valley level later in the day.
Clear and warm up to about 1200m with a slow thaw until afternoon.

Humidity coming up from the valley meeting cold air coming over the range means clear and balmy until afternoon when the air cools, potentially bringing snow.   Read more ...

Furano Now!

Friday 7th December 2007, 15:57pm
Weather conditions: heavy snow
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --

Heavy snow again all day today.

The Kitanomine Zone (except the gondola) will open up tomorrow from 830am! This opens up the Link Course as well which connects the two mountains. If the past 2 weekends are precedent, then the Top Lift in the Furano Zone will also open meaning the resort is at about 60% capacity!

The forecast is for snow to continue into tonight, and then possibly even a bluebird tomorrow, so look forward to a great weekend of skiing and snowboarding.   Read more ...
