After a cool June/July, August really warmed up with most days in the high 20's and even a few into the low 30's. The Kutchan Jazz Festival had great weather, good music and large crowds. The Jagamatsuri (potato festival) was again awesome with near the whole population of Kutchan and many from the surrounding area turning up to take part.
The last couple of days has seen the biggest waves of the season for the surfing crowd on the Pacific side of the island. A large typhoon moving northwards to the east of Hokkaido has been sending in waves up to 15ft.
September is here and like clockwork the weather has cooled and thankfully the humidity has departed. The leaves are just starting to turn and it's amazing to think we'll start getting our first snowfalls in just a couple of months. Can't wait!
