Beautiful Sunny skies today.

Up the top yesterday the snow was firm and fast but got pretty sticky and slushy towards the bottom, but we are still able to ski top to bottom at this stage.

A few more people around being the weekend but still pretty quiet up in the mountains and around the village.

Lots of locals and weekenders bustling for a spot in the Onsens this morning.

The outlook is for more sunshine tomorrow and then some light snow on Monday night
Sprng is a magic time of year up here with the locals preparing for the farming season ahead and a good time to relax on the slopes and enjoy the sunshine.   Read more ...

Weather conditions: Sunny blue skies
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
It's more of the same today with blue skies, mild temperatures and the sun out doing it's thing (and melting some more snow) - there is not much else to report today. As I mentioned yesterday it is the last weekend of the season for some resort areas and lifts at others, so from Monday operations will be scaled down... but there will still be a fair bit open. Have a good weekend.   Read more ...

It's another fine day here - pretty much more of the same with just a bit of cloud in the sky. All the gondolas are operating and at the moment it isn't too busy. Still a fair bit of snow around and only a few patches on the lower slopes...

The forecast for tomorrow is once again sun and warm weather.   Read more ...

Furano Now!

Saturday 5th April 2008, 17:08pm
Weather conditions: overcast, cold winds, drizzle turning to sleet
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Rain on and off the for last 48 hours in Furano. The snow quality was heavy and sticky yesterday, but today was a little slushier.

It is still best out early in the morning. There are dirt patches being revealed on the lower slopes now.

With steady rainfall here in Furano, it meant heavy snowfall up at Asahidake, just over an hour up the valley. Asahidake had the best part of 25cm of fresh powder snow today. It was very dry, and deep enough to almost feel bottomless; a sensation we have missed for the month of March. There are plenty of lines up there still for those of you who are flexible enough to visit Asahidake tomorrow.    Read more ...
