Blue skies and sunshine
Good morning from Yuzawa.
It ended up being more hazy than clear yesterday - hopefully today is the day we'll get to enjoy more properly clearer skies. The sun is out from early on and it's going to warm up to 20C and probably beyond. It's a lovely morning.
Same is forecast for tomorrow too, with tomorrow set to be a bit warmer than today.
There might be some rain on Monday, so if you are planning one last slide at GALA Yuzawa or Tashiro, perhaps today or tomorrow is the better choice.
Photos today are from GALA Yuzawa and the Mitsumata Area of Kagura.
GALA Yuzawa - Official snow depth: 80cm - All courses in the Central Area remain open - Broadway, Swan and Super Broadway in the Northern Area remain open - Gondola, Barouche quad, Phaeton pair, Coach pair and Victoria quad lifts are operating - The downhill Falcon course is closed for the season - take the Gondola back down to base - GALA Yuzawa plans to be open until Monday 6th May

Hello from Zao Onsen.
Nice spring weather to enjoy this weekend.
Lots of fresh looking green now down at base with no snow to be seen but there's still a bit of snow up there on the upper areas. It is looking a bit --- dirty --- and won't be lasting much longer though, but we'll manage through until Monday if you want one last slide of the season. (Forecasts are showing the chance of some rain on Monday).
Last report of the season with a general message due on Monday.
- Summit/Juhyo area (part) - Chuo (part) - Utopia (part)
These are the planned lift closing dates as stated by the resort. There may be slight variations and they are also of course subject to change depending on snow conditions. Please check with the resort before going.
Operating: - Chuo Number 1 pair - Chuo Number 2 pair - Utopia Number 2 pair
Operating through the year (for sightseeing): - Sky Cable - Chuo Ropeway - Zao Ropeway

Good morning from Niseko.
Fine weather for the day yesterday with mostly blue skies, some white clouds at times. More of the same is due today and indeed tomorrow as well, and temperatures at base may reach 20C.
Not much wind is forecast so lifts should be moving as planned.
Niseko Annupuri couldn't quite keep that lower course open until the end of Golden Week. There's not enough snow left now and so that base course is now closed. Just the Utopia course now remains open and you need to get the Gondola back down to base.
Operations at Hirafu appear to be unchanged.
Have a good Saturday.
It is currently 'Golden Week' in Japan. This year GW is a 10 day period until the last day of the ski season on Monday 6th May.
