Snow and weather reports posted on Sunday 23rd February 2020

Yesterday turned out to be a very warm and sunny day, though fairly hazy clouds rather than bright and blue. Today is similar with more hazy but bright clouds and a warm start to the day. A high of around 24 degrees in town is forecast
Tomorrow is the last day of the season for Gala Yuzawa and the Tashiro part of Kagura. All resorts have been pretty busy these last few days and will likely be today and tomorrow as well. Both Gala and Tashiro both still have decent snow cover as well - it's happily not a case of very narrow thin strips of snow down to base. So it's great that people can enjoy these conditions so late this season. And of course Kagura plans to be open until 30th May.
Official resort snow depths @ 4th May 10, AM: Kagura: 280cm Kagura - Tashiro: 200cm GALA Yuzawa: 80cm
Planned closing dates at resorts in Yuzawa:
Wednesday 5th May 2010: Gala Yuzawa Kagura (Tashiro Area)
The fine weather continues with another scorcher today. Everyone's in T-shirts and shorts in the valley (well the foreigners at any rate) and it looks like today will match yesterday's high of 25 degrees.
Conditions are best midmorning up at Tenjin with things getting pretty slushy later in the day but it is still a great place to spend the day soaking up the rays.
Tenjin are still planning to be open until 16th of this month and with a day pass costing 2,500JPY every day until they close, plenty of opportunity to get in some final spring turns for the season. It's a long (hot) time until November.
