We are blesses again today with another classic bluebird day here. Sunny, warm, what more could one ask for? This is the last weekend for all the resorts, so if you have not already hit up the spring skiing then go for it. Great views today and very warm temperatures for this time of year. Enjoy the end of the season snow or land/water based sports!
Avalanche Advisory:
Temperatures are rising and water is freely flowing in the snow pack thus slab avalanches to the ground are a definite possibility. Watch out for those precariously hanging slopes of snow on steep convexing terrain and under glide cracks. Move quickly through areas in terrain trap valley bottoms. There will be general loose wet slides on all slopes as surface snow temperatures rise and due to the snow pack being isothermal, ( all right at 0 degrees from ground to surface) Slides can be very big at this time of year so play smart.
Yesterday was a bordering on 'hot' with a fair amount of cloud moving in from late morning. Today will be another day of temperatures over 25 (the low overnight was 13 degrees) but there is no cloud around this morning. It is bright blue skies all around with just a slight warm breeze.
Tomorrow the forecast is for cloud, with a chance of rain in the evening.... then back to fine weather on Tuesday, the last day of the Golden Week holidays and the last day of the season for Gala Yuzawa, Naeba and Tashiro. Read more ...

Winds are moderate up to 20km/h at the top of the resort, looking to strengthen throughout the day. Currently all spring lifts are in operation.
Golden Week now in full swing and the village is again busy with spring skiers, rafters etc.
The spring lifts will be in operation until Tuesday, 6th May but with the forecast of strong winds and heavy rain for tomorrow and the next day, today maybe the last chance to enjoy the snow. Read more ...

Aah, the perfect day. Temps are comfy, the village is green, and the slopes are white. Akakura has got a bunch of skiers up top, but Seki is still sparse despite the fact that it's got well over a meter left. Warm winds are mixing with the cold winds off the peaks.
Your Myoko area levels for today: 20cm (Akakura Kanko Resort); 20cm (Akakura Onsen); 120cm (Seki Onsen); 125cm (Sasagamine: cross country only)
