Weather conditions: Fine - Partly Cloudy
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Still not much report from previous days. It's shaping up to be a fairly sunny morning, cloud cover encroaching in the latter half of the day. Temperatures are cooling off a little, with the incoming system expected to bring light snow showers over the Thursday and Friday. The larger system following on Saturday and Sunday is, at this stage, forecast to rain.   Read more ...

Weather conditions: Sun and blue sky
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
The glorious weather continues with sun and blue sky as far as the eye can see today. The last couple of nights have been cold though, with frost on the ground in the mornings; a step in the right direction, but the daytime temperatures are consistently up at around 14 degrees which is too warm for what we want.

Rain is forecast for tomorrow so hopefully this will drop a little up high but overall temperatures are set to remain above average for this time of year for the rest of the week.   Read more ...

Weather conditions: Cloud
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Today is looking like yesterday - bright blue skies, hardly a cloud in the sky and very mild temperatures. The sun is out and it may even rise to around 10 degrees at Kagura.

Tomorrow rain is forecast lower down with perhaps some sprinkling of snow higher up and then perhaps a bit more on Saturday but not that dump we are hoping for quite yet.   Read more ...

Zao Now!

Wednesday 2nd December 2009, 12:11pm
Weather conditions: Fine
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Since that last snowfall we have generally been back in an autumn-like period of weather and today is another fine day. Unfortunately with the milder weather we have seen a fair bit of snow melt and it's very patchy now. So much so that even though the ropeways are running as usual, skiing isn't on the cards. It seems we will need to wait a bit longer for snow to arrive enough for the season to get going proper.

This morning it is 5 degrees in the village and sunny with some cloud.

Taking a look at the forecast, it looks like even at the top of the mountain it there won't be that much snow falling in the coming 6 days. Perhaps 5cm or so here and there (Thursday and Saturday) but nothing significant on the short range forecast as it stands now.

Furano Now!

Wednesday 2nd December 2009, 12:54pm
Weather conditions: Cloud
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
It snowed last night in the village very lightly and by morning all evidence of anything was gone, but I saw it with my own eyes. International visitors have started to arrive in Furano to take advantage of the early season snow combined with some great early season rates. It is looking like a reasonable snowfall could be heading this way some time on Saturday...fingers crossed.   Read more ...
