Morning from Nozawa.

And as expected the sun is out we have clear skies and it is warm. And it is going to get very warm... hot, even. Perhaps as high as around 25C in the village. (It was on the news last night that some parts of Japan will be heating up to 30C today; atsui!)

Niseko Now!

Saturday 21st April 2018, 8:12am
Weather conditions: Clear, kind of hazy
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: --
Good morning Niseko fans.

Here we are on Saturday morning. There's just two more of them left now. Check out my new hi-tech and undeniably exciting 'countdown' below to see how any days we have left. To me it kind of reminds me how many reports I have left to write!

It's sunny again this morning and going to be warming up - as is all of Japan, to silly levels of hot in some regions too!

We should see a high of about 18C here too, so it's going to be warm.

The downer this morning is that there's a fairly strong wind being reported by the resorts. At the start of the day, due to the windy conditions the top King Number 3 and King Number 4 lifts at Niseko Grand Hirafu, as well as the top Jumbo Number 4 lift at Niseko Annupuri is on hold. The listings below are what is scheduled to be open if and when the winds calm down.

More clear skies due tomorrow; perhaps not quite as warm.

Saturday 21st April 2018, 8:18am
Weather conditions: Fair
New snowfall: 0cm
Snow depth: --
Good morning from Grandeco.

It is a sunny morning. As with all of Japan this weekend, very warm temperatures and gentle winds is what is on for the day today - and tomorrow too.

With the warmth the snow depth is quickly getting lower but there are still courses open on the upper area using the Number 3 lift.

And course back to the base are still just about managing - when that gets cut off, you'll have to take gondola to get up and also back down to base.

The snow is only going to continue melting away so not much chance left now... hurry to the hills!

Lifts operating:

- Gondola
- Number 2
- Number 3

Courses info:

- Mint B, Lavender A, Lavender 28 and Center 33 are closed

Hakuba Now!

Weather conditions: Fine and very warm
New snowfall: 0cm

Good morning.

A fine and warm day yesterday and a fine and warmer day expected today and it's already starting to feel pretty warm.

The local forecast says that it might be as hot - I think I can use that word - as 26C this afternoon! Whoah.

Tomorrow is going to be very warm too.

So, theme of the weekend: warm > hot.

Oh yes, and cherry blossoms. They are looking good at the moment. Of course, for a strictly limited time!
