After the rain we got yesterday, I am happy to be able to report some fresh snow this morning. Just a bit - I am measuring 3cm - and light snow falling as I prepare the report. So not a total reset of course, but hopefully there will be some more as you go higher up.
There's some snow on the forecast too on and off in the coming days, so fingers crossed!
3-5cm new snow is blanketing the mountain. 20cm snowdrift just below ridgeline in 800m western area leeward slopes. Surface slab avalanche risk is moderately high in slopes above 900m. Caution is required in open steep slopes. New snow is pretty good but shallow, beware of overspeeding, falling into cracks and hitting trees. All gates are expected to open.
Glide avalanche from 1000m upper cornice/snowdrift slopes are to be highly expected. Drastic changes in temperature can also trigger those slides. Stay away from valley bottoms. There are no chances to override a glide avalanche.
Creeks are also swelling with the snowmelt. Falling from snowbridges could easily lead to crucial situation. Cross valley/creeks carefully.

Hello from Madarao.
Can't see much this morning, with foggy conditions. Light snow/sleet falling though no new cm either being observed by myself or being reported by the resort. Definitely colder though.
Expect the sun to be back tomorrow; hopefully not too warm though temps will be on the rise again by Sunday.
Just over two more weeks to go for Madarao resort operations.

It is colder this morning. The warmth was kind of nice, but it was too warm for too long which of course is not the best friend of snow.
Anyway this morning it is raining early on but expected to be sleet or perhaps snow later as it gets a little colder still during the morning. I can't see anything being reported but perhaps a dusting of snow higher up.
Limited visibility too.
Tomorrow we are going to see more sunshine.
Ski resort information on Thursday 15th March 2018 (at time of writing):
Lots of cloud, lots of fog especially higher up, and some kind of wet drizzle down here. there might be a bit of snow at higher elevations but no cm of fresh snow are being reported by the resort themselves.
It is definitely much colder though this morning with temperatures back down fairly close to zero, which is very welcome after the general warmth of this week.
After a cold overnight, sunny skies are due from tomorrow morning and it shouldn't be warming up too much (though warmer temps again for Sunday).

Fresh snowfall since yesterday (as reported by the resort):
A fairly sunny day on the mountain, moderate at the top in terms of wind, light at the bottom. Tops of about 6C, with all reports saying the snow was very spring-like, slushy and a bit of fun.
We saw some light rain into the evening which turned to snow in the early hours of this morning at the top, with more light snow on the way today. It won’t be much, probably less than a few cm, but better to be getting snow than losing it to rain…
Light winds, tops of 1C and the snow should ease down to snow showers this evening, but will stick around until tomorrow afternoon...
Saturday: snow showers, light winds & tops of -1C Sunday: mostly sunny with some light rain in the evening, light winds & tops of 7C Monday: rain showers clearing, moderate winds & tops of 3C
Good morning from Naeba! The skies are currently having a go at a little snow, which is falling at a light pace, but is sadly not accumulating at the base just yet. The air temperature is sneaking in just below 0°C, which means that precipitation today should remain as snow throughout. There is a moderate wind accompanying the snowfall, and this can be expected to continue all day. We have a cooler night ahead, with highs of -3°C tonight. The pistes will be hard due to freezing temperatures last night, and due to the lack of sunshine today, I doubt they will soften up much today.
Looking forwards, we have another sunny spring day to look forwards to tomorrow, with temperatures at the base a more palatable 3°C. Sunday will bring with it cloud, warmer temperatures and some precipitation, which is predicted to fall as rain at the base and snow at the summit. Again, any accumulations will be modest. This will continue into Monday, with the skies clearing on Tuesday morning. Heavy snowfall is currently predicted on Wednesday night, however this is something which we will have to keep our eyes on in the coming days. Read more ...

Sleet turning to snow
The warm turned to rain; the rain turned to snow.
I doubt if there will be much accumulation (Niigata Prefecture is forecasting between 1 and 5cm), at least at base level and up the hill a bit, as the streets are pretty wet and nothing much is showing except on the car windows.
It’s sunny tomorrow, then increasing warmth and rain again into next week.
Good afternoon from Yuzawa and apologies for the late report today.
It was approaching 20 degrees in town yesterday which is pretty shocking, so I am happy to report a real drop in temperatures this morning.
Unfortunately, it has also been raining lightly at town level as temperatures level off at around 4-5C today. Some very light snow at Naeba best and some snow falling at higher elevations too but not the kind that is going to build up to anything significant.
Tomorrow should remain on the colder side of things but sunny skies are forecast with temperatures rising again on Sunday.
