Clear skis again
A bit of a southerly wind this morning on mountain but all of the planned lifts appear to be opening as planned and we are enjoying more of those clear blue skies. It's another lovely spring morning in Niseko with temperatures to rise into double digits and into low teens.
Some rain is forecast for tomorrow before we get back to sunshine on Tuesday and beyond as temperatures start to rise a bit further.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Bright sunny overcast
Hello from Yuzawa.
It was a lovely day yesterday. Nice and warm, though it was still fairly chilly in the evening.
This morning it is bright and sunny but it's mostly kind of overcast skies rather than deep blue; a high of around 15C is forecast for town this afternoon.
Rain is also forecast for later on - hopefully that will wait until ski lifts are closed.
The Sociable quad lift is operating for the weekend at GALA Yuzawa, as is the Shiraitayama pair lift at Kandatsu Kogen.
Just a mention to the Okutadami Maruyama ski hill which is located to the north of Yuzawa in Uonuma city. That ski hill will also be open until early May.

Nozawa Onsen Now!
Sunday 14th April 2019, 8:41am
Good morning from Nozawa.
It's kind of sunny but also feeling rather overcast this morning.
Still great cover on upper slopes and not too bad lower down either. Karasawa is looking very patchy, Nagasawa is looking a bit patchy, Hikage is still has snow cover just looking a bit not-perfect-white. But upper slopes - and they're the ones that matter now - are looking good.
Perhaps a little rain this afternoon and overnight.
The resort was saying that the lifts noted in the list below would be open for the weekend, but on the official site this morning I see they are showing the Yunomine pair and Mizunashi triple also operating - I didn't notice them yesterday and am not planning on being up there today... so not sure on that particular point.

Thin cloud and a generally overcast but bright feel at the moment after some more blue sky on show earlier on. The forecast shows cloud and the chance of some rainfall later this afternoon and overnight tonight. The forecast on this site is showing snow at higher elevations which would be most welcome.

Clear and hazy
Not much new to add at this time, but after a week in which I went April powder skiing in the Yuzawa area (and Myoko got fresh, too; I just wasn't here to see it!) and a really full parking lot at Akakan yesterday, I thought it would be a good time to just update our snow totals and check out open lifts and runs.
Akakan is opening up the No. 5 top lift, at least for the weekend. Might be a nice day for a hike-up, even (the hills are still really well covered). Still reporting nearly three meters of snow. And I saw the cats out piling up snow so people can still ski all the way down to base level.
For the aerobatic types, Seki has a pipe and kicker ready for you.
All the lifts at Lotte Arai are running, with about half the courses, and half the freeride zones open (the closed runs are mostly the steeper short runs).
