Morning from Yuzawa.
Strong winds this morning are preventing GALA Yuzawa from opening today. It looks like Kagura is opening as normal though so that is the only choice if you want to be skiing/snowboarding today.
Otherwise it's a warm cloudy morning but we're expecting lots of cloud during the day. Temperatures are due to rise to close on 20 degrees as well, so it's a warm spring day.
Rain is on the forecast for tonight. Hopefully it won't stick around much into tomorrow.
Resorts that remain open in Yuzawa on Wednesday 13th April 2016):

It was a fine and fairly warm day yesterday, and remained mild overnight.
The mild conditions start the day off and today temperatures may rise to around 17C down here at village base level. Unfortunately it looks like we're going to get rained on by the end of the day with it forecast to be coming down heavily at times. Fingers crossed it will ease off and the forecast sun will appear in the morning.

Good morning from Niseko.
Lots of cloud around on this mild morning, and I'm afraid right now it is raining. Hopefully that will clear up sooner than later, and tomorrow might bring us some sunshine - and forecast warmer conditions as well. But it looks like there's a mix of cloud and rain dominating the forecast through into the weekend. Let's see how it all turns out.
It's approaching 10:30am as I write this and the top Ace Number 4 lift at Niseko Grand Hirafu is on hold due to strong winds up there; and the top Jumbo Number 4 lift at Niseko Annupuri is also on hold.
There's more patches of ground showing up here and there especially on lower areas, but snow cover is still very good for top to bottom riding... when those tops lifts are operating of course...
Resort specific lift opening news at time of posting:
Resort operations - subject to change due to snow and weather conditions
Niseko Grand Hirafu resort area lift operations: Ace Family Pair - until 17th April Ace Number 2 Center Four Quad Ace Number 3 Pair Ace Number 4 Pair
The resort is going to be 'upgrading' the King Number 3 triple lift in time for next season - as part of this work the Hirafu Gondola, King Number 3 and 4 lifts have all now closed for the season. Niseko Grand Hirafu plans to remain open until Thursday 5th May.
Niseko Annupuri plans to be open until Thursday 5th May with the Gondola, Jumbo 1 and Jumbo 4 lifts operating.
Niseko Village is currently closed but plans to be open again for Golden Week from Friday 29th April until Thursday 5th May.
