Snow and weather reports posted on Monday 30th November 2020

Good afternoon all.
I thought I would post an update today as we are now less than two weeks before the planned opening dates of Hirafu and Annupuri.
Unfortunately I don't have the snowy news that you will be wanting to hear. Don't shout at me...
It has actually been a bit warmer than usual since my last report with no further snowfall down here. If you are in Japan you might well have heard on the national news over the last week or so that the lack of 'hatsu-yuki' (first snowfall of the season) in the plains of Hokkaido (for example, Sapporo) is getting to be much later than usual. I think I heard on the news the other night that it is the latest it has been for around 30 years - and we're still waiting for that. Of course, snowfall here in the Niseko region is what we are most interested in, but I thought I would mention it.
It's raining today with a high of around +7 degrees.
Hmmm. It's still very early of course, so of course there is absolutely no need to panic. Stay calm and eat toast!
The forecast does show temperatures dipping by the weekend with the chance of snow on the mountains. So keep your eyes on them. Here's the one for Hirafu:
