I can hardly believe that is was back in May when the last Hakuba Now report was posted!
Four full months of rather hot and at times very wet weather later, here we are thinking about Winter 2013/2014. There has been lots and lots of rain over summer here in Hakuba. We did enjoy a period of hot and clearer conditions around the Obon holidays in mid-August, but outside of that it has certainly felt like a more than avertaely wet summer.
It is now gradually cooling down and I have even hear a few people mention the 'samui' (cold) word a few times especially in the evenings. Personally I wouldn't go that far, but we are certainly turning the corner into autumn.
Today a high of around 26 degrees was recorded and it has been dipping down to around 15 degrees over the last few evenings.
After the lovely autumm season, next up will of course be the best season of the lot. May it be one of copious amounts of snow... and then lots more snow. Delivered each day overnight preferably!
Hakuba Now will of course be posting daily updates this season once again. Expect more regular reports as we approach winter with the latest news about the weather conditions. Read more ...
