Snow depth: --
Thankfully things brightened up and clouds started to move on later in the day yesterday and this morning they all seem to have gone. Blue clear skies with a hazy kind of spring thing going on this morning over Hakuba. And it should get quite warm too today.

Niseko Now!

Tuesday 10th April 2012, 9:52am
Weather conditions: Clear and sunny
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
After the wild and not particularly nice conditions of yesterday, it's all change this morning. Clear blue skies over the resorts and much less of a wind. It's going to be a warm one today as well. Tomorrow we might see more rain in the village but fingers crossed that it might be snow higher up, it's going to be borderline though by the looks of things. Beyond that it seems there's a fair bit of clear skies lined up for Niseko into the weekend.

The conditions yesterday can't have done any good to the snow conditions but today should be a feel-good day out on the runs for those getting out there to enjoy them. All is quiet as well so now is a good time to enjoy an uncrowded Niseko!

Hanazono had it's last day of the season (or half day with the lifts closed in the morning due to weather conditions) yesterday and from today that area is now closed for the season. Lifts remaining operating are shown below.

----

Current lift operations (at time of writing, 10th April 2012):

Grand Hirafu & Hanazono:

Annupuri:
Annupuri Gondola
Jumbo No1
Jumbo No3
Jumbo No4

Grand Hirafu and Annupuri both plan to be open until 6th May.
The Hanazono and Niseko Village areas are now closed.

Nozawa Onsen Now!

Tuesday 10th April 2012, 9:58am
Weather conditions: Fine, clear
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
A clearer kind of clear this morning above Nozawa with blue skies all around. Right now it is around +5C in the village with a high of above 10C forecast for later in the day, so it's a warm spring morning here.

It does seem to be the case that rain is on it's way tomorrow and probably high up on Yamabiko as well. Clearer conditions after that though so hopefully it won't come down too much. What does seem for sure is the warm week should continue through into the weekend.

There are not many people at all out there on weekdays at the moment. If you can make it, it's a great time to come and enjoy a quiet Nozawa.

Current Official Snow Depths Numbers:

Yamabiko:
360cm

Uenotaira:
325cm

Nagasaka:
160cm

----

Current Lift operations:
Nagasaka Gondola
Yamabiko Four
Yamabiko Four No2
Skyline Link

----

Main courses open:
Yamabiko A-E courses
Skyline
Uenotaira
Paradise

The above are subject to change.   Read more ...

Weather conditions: Clear
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Clear (light) blue skies over Shiga Kogen and a mild start to the day with temperatures already easily into the positives. The sun is out and it should be a fine day here.

Unfortunately the forecast for tomorrow tells us it's going to rain, so hopefully we can get through that quickly and onto the other side which seems to bring us more sun and mild conditions.

Mammoth (one quad)
Ichinose Family (one pair and one quad)
