Good morning from Yuzawa.

It was a mild and sunny day yesterday with clouds moving in later in the day. Town areas got some rain by night (boooo!) but higher up the mountains got a bit of snow (hurray!)... Kagura are this morning reporting 5cm of fresh snowfall and Maiko Snow Resort are reporting 2cm. So just a bit really.

It is cloudy this morning but quite bright with more blue skies opening up over Minamiuonuma to the north. Let's hope it doesn't warm up too much. We can't afford snow melt right now.

A high of around 5C is forecast for town; colder tomorrow with hopefully (that word again!) some snow.

Part of the Southern Area at GALA Yuzawa is now open with the Batman and Eliza courses available and the Wagonette pair lift operating. Note that the Ropeway connecting GALA Yuzawa with Yuzawa Kogen is not yet operating.

That's about it really. It will be another busy day; tomorrow is another holiday for most and so expect there to be more people around than on a normal Monday.

GALA Yuzawa

- All of the Central Area and Northern Area courses are open
- All lifts are now operating apart from the Waggonette pair lift and the Ropeway lift connecting with Yuzawa Kogen in the Southern Area
- The Southern Area is part open - Batman and Eliza appear to be available
- Take the Gondola back down at the end of the day (Falcon downhill course not yet available)
- Official snow depth: 100cm

Ishiuchi Maruyama

- All three base Entrances now open
- Most lifts and mid to upper courses now open; some lower courses closed
- Official snow depth: 50cm

Iwappara

- 6 lifts are operating with the central to upper area of the resort open
- Official snow depth: 40cm

Joetsu Kokusai

- 11 lifts operating
- 9 courses open (in front of hotel, Panorama, Atema areas)
- Official snow depth: 60cm

Kagura

- All areas are open with most courses now available
- Both the Mitsumata Ropeway and Tashiro Ropeway bases ropeways are operating
- The lift/course connection between Tashiro Area and Kagura Area is available
- The top Number 5 lift and top gate now open
- The Dragondola connecting with Naeba is operating
- Official snow depth: 110cm

Kandatsu Snow Resort

- All lifts plan to be operating
- Official snow depth: 85cm

Maiko Snow Resort

- Gondola and top Okusoechi quad and pair lifts are operating
- 7 courses in the top Okusoechi area are open. Take the Gondola back down to base.
- 1 lifts and course over on the Maiko area are also operating
- Official snow depth: 65cm (upper); 10cm (base)

Muikamachi Hakkaisan

- Ropeway and Number 1 and 3 lifts operating
- Official snow depth: 100cm

Naeba

- Naeba is open with most courses available
- Official snow depth: 70cm

NASPA Ski Garden

- All lifts operating
- B, C, E, F, G and H courses are open (A and D closed)
- Mogul and Slopestyle not open
- Kids Garden open
- Official snow depth: 35cm

Yuzawa Kogen

- Official snow depth: 80cm (Kogen); 20cm (base)

Yuzawa Nakazato
